Woolzies Dryer Balls – Review & Giveaway!

Disclosure:  I received this product for free as part of a review and giveaway opportunity. The opinions in my review are honest and my own and I would never recommend a product I would not personally use and purchase myself.

It’s funny how a bit of time can change things.  Just over a year ago, I was probably just like a lot of busy moms, just using products that I had grown up with because I didn’t have the time or energy to research alternatives.  With health challenges in our home and the desire to find more natural ways of cleaning, eating and caring for our bodies I was thrilled with the opportunity to try Woolzies Dryer Balls. Tully’s Coffee {Giveaway}

I had no idea that National Coffee Day was Saturday, September 29, 2012.  Yikes, that could be seen as a big ‘faux pas’ most importantly because I live in the coffee lovers capital of the Northwest – Seattle!   I mean I love coffee —–  really love coffee!

When a kind representative at Tully’s Coffee®   shared this with me and offered me the opportunity to sample a few of their most popular fall coffee blends along with a Keurig® MINI Plus Brewing System, of course I could not resist.  Especially since they were also offering a Tully’s® Prize Pack for one of my readers!  {This is where you get excited too}

Tully’s Coffee® is part of the family of brands within Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc.  Established in Seattle in 1992, Tully’s® is known and valued for its signature slow roasting approach, offering a richer, fuller cup of coffee.  Tully’s® distinctive coffees are roasted slowly, over a slightly lower temperature than other coffees, to capture just the right flavors.  The slow roast approach allows for a focus on the sights, smells, and sounds that indicate the right flavors have been captured at just the right moment.

Tully’s® slow roast process is similar to toasting a marshmallow slowly over a low ember until it’s evenly browned and caramelized throughout.  {Doesn’t that just sound yummy?} When Tully’s® coffee beans are treated with this kind of patience, the result is richer, fuller cup of coffee.  It takes a little longer, and requires an artist’s touch, but the difference is revealed with every sip.  You can totally taste it!

They offer 17 different blends in a wide range of flavor profiles, including “Spirited” light roast, “Balanced” medium roast, and “Grand” dark roast collections.

I have been using a Keurig® now for a few months and have to say that I am in love.  You get a perfect cup every time and the even better part, I do not have to get the coffee all ready to brew the night before like I did with my old coffee maker.  This saves time!  When I used the Keurig® MINI Plus Brewing System that was sent, it was just a fabulous, but even a bit better.  The appliance took hardly any room on my counter.  It kept things nice and neat – less clutter is better.  Isn’t it cute?

But what really blew me away was the Tully’s Coffee®that came along.  I was able to try out the Tully’s®“Balanced” Medium Roast- House Blend as well as Tully’s® “Grand” Dark Roast – French Roast.

My favorite was the House Blend, while my husband preferred the French Roast. Now, this is another feature of brewing with a Keurig®  system, if you have more than one coffee drinker in the house, they can brew the exact coffee  they prefer, which may very well be different from your own.  I love that.  When my hubby wants to start drinking decaf earlier in the day than I, well easy peasy, he pops in a decaf K-Cup®  and I can continue to drink it full strength.

If you’ve never had the experience of trying Tully’s Coffee®make sure you grab a pack today and start your morning off tomorrow in a whole new way!

One lucky coffee-loving Confident Mom reader will win a Tully’s® Prize Pack featuring:

Two blends of Tully’s® coffee:

  • Tully’s® “Balanced” Medium Roast Offering: House Blend – A friendly welcome
  • Tully’s® “Grand” Dark Roast Offering: French Roast – A smokey, decadent tale

{you can pick either K-cup packs or bagged coffee}

  • and a leather-bound journal  (my hubby has already stole mine away from me, it is rather cool!)

BabbaCo Activity Boxes :: A review and giveaway!

As a busy mom I have to admit I am not always very creative with activities, especially for my youngest.  Honestly, it had been quite a while since I had a young one in the house when our foster child “Little J” was placed with us a year and a half ago.  I was more in the teen activity mode and nearly had forgotten how to play and have fun.

When I discovered BabbaCo Activity boxes, I knew I had to check it out.  Ready made fun, all prepared and organized – just open and play!

Giveaway: “Little Star” by Anthony DeStefano

I had the opportunity to review “Little Star” by Anthony DeStefano and illustrated by Mark Elliot.  I absolutely love children’s books and always look for new reflections of stories, and this one was no disappointment.

This book was beautifully illustrated and certainly caught the eye of our 1 year old foster child and even my 14 year old who was the first to read it as soon as it came in the mail! I personally love the story of Jesus being born and honestly never tire of retelling the story. I’m always looking for Biblically based Christmas stories for my children. I am thrilled with “Little Star”, as it gives a fresh and creative perspective on the birth of Jesus and provided some insight to the origins of the Star of Bethlehem. [Read more…]
