Weekly Household Quick Tip
by confidentmom on January 16, 2012
Here is the quick tip to a task that is listed for this week in the Confident Mom Weekly Household Planner.
15-Min Evening Pickup
This is one of the best things you can do for your home, and the best part is you can delegate this! You can make it a game by playing a set of favorite songs that total around 15 minutes and play the music – everyone has a room to go through and pick up loose items that may be in a place where they don’t belong.
- Discarded shoes
- Homework
- Toys
- Books
- Backpacks
- Coats
It feels much better when you get up in the morning and have a tidy home. Clear counters, floors and tables are much more energizing than seeing stacks of stuff or old dirty socks!

I agree! I never thought this was important to me until I started actually doing it and discovered how much lighter and happier I felt in the morning to see a tidy living room and kitchen counters. Smart!
I really love your weekly household planner. It was just what I needed to help me be more productive without hating household chores and feeling like “I just don’t have time.” Even if I don’t check off everything for the day, just checking of anything makes me feel like I was productive because it is in black and white!!
My favorite part – the quiet devotional time. I do that first!!
Thanks Susan!
Susan,
I can’t tell you enough how valuable your Confident Mom Weekly Household Planner has been to me.
My brother, Kevin, died in a car accident on Dec. 24. Since then, it’s been a challenge just to put one foot in front of the other and do all that I have to do every day as a work-at-home mom of three kids age 7 and under.
In the past few weeks I’ve taken special comfort in routine, in physical work that allows time for thought and reflection. The lists you provide have given me direction. Even if I don’t accomplish all the tasks in a given day, I don’t have to think as much about what I need to do — it’s all right there in front of me.
Thank you,
Becky
I have a hard time being consistent with this one, but sure want to be better about it!
